When I got married and move to our new house in America, I got good stuff for my kitchen from my husband. That was this Rada knife set. It was amazing and cute that my husband collected these kitchen things before he married. Of course, it’s good for me. He bought these knives from a fund raiser because a coworker highly recommended them. As you can see in the picture, he got many different sets and pieces from Rada. You already saw me use my knives many times in my pictures and videos. Among the knives, my favorite one is the French Chef’s Knife which I can use for almost everything; chopping, peeling, mincing, cutting, slicing, etc. A really good point for these knives is the sharpener. I’ve never seen sharpening this easy and accurate before. The price is also good. So if you need to buy some knives and don’t know what to buy, I highly recommend these Rada knives.
Since I’ve received many questions about my knives – where I bought them, how they can buy them, etc. – I was thinking that someday I will post something about them on my blog or YouTube. The good news is, before they were only sold for fund raisers, but now you can buy them on Amazon.com. I will post the links here for you. I hope this information is helpful to you. Thanks!
The Sharpener
This should be a requirement for any Rada knife. The sharpening action is quick – you only need to pass the knife though the rings 2-3 times to make it as sharp as new again. |
Oak Block Set
This makes for a great set in the kitchen – it includes: French Chef (my favorite), “Old Fashioned” Butcher, Slicer, Carving Fork, Utility/Steak, Super Parer, Vegetable Peeler, and Regular Paring. |
||
Tomato Knife
This is one of my husband’s favorite knifes. This works especially well for easily slicing through tomato skin without making a mess of the soft tomato. |
Bagel Knife
This is my husband’s favorite knife. It works very well for cutting bagels, bread, rolls, English muffins, etc. |
||
French Chef’s Knife
This is my favorite knife. I use it for almost everything. This is the shape that Koreans usually use for cooking. |
Starter Set
This is a great set for starting your Rada collection, since it is only a couple knives and it has a sharpener in it. You can try them out to see if you like them without much expense. |
You can see the whole collection in my Amazon kitchen shop collection – click here.

Hi, Aeri,
I am thinking about buying a set of Rada knives. How do you store your knives at home? Do you use an oakblock? Or do you keep them in a drawer?
Thanks!

Hi Aeri!
I just came across your site and I absolutely love it! It’s so hard to find easy to follow Korean recipes especially if it’s kim chi, so it’s a delight to come across your blog! I’ve had friends parents try to give me recipes by saying you add garlic, ginger, green onions, leeks, and red pepper powder til enough and mix. Not the most helpful for beginners! π So thank you for your efforts!
I was wondering I saw you using a rounded thick stick looking thing to mince your garlic in one of the many videos I saw of yours. What is that exactly? It looks so convenient!
Aeri Lee says
hi Purple Lover,
Maybe you saw..that I was mincing my garlic with a tip (Ending part) of my knife.. thanks
Ji Hee says
Hi. I love your website! I’ve been following your recipes with great interest. I bought the rada knives recently, as as you said, they work wonderfully. I was just wondering how you took care of them? What do you dry them with(any specific cloth/oil?) and if you know of any good portable case for them. Also, could you recommend some good pots and pans? It’s about time for me to replace mine. I’m sort of reoutfitting my kitchen. Also a cutting board, mixing bowl and steamer(if you know of any). Thanks!
Aeri Lee says
hi Ji Hee,
I’m glad to hear that you like your rada knives. Compare with the price, I do think they make good knives. My pots and pans are All-Clad.. the price is expensive but it is worth to have nice pans to use for a long time. I like my T-fal nonstick pan. My all cald collection has metal steamer.. mixing bowl.. I use pyrex brand.. Thanks
Jason says
Hi, the Rada knives with aluminum handles should be dried immediately after washing them or getting them wet, or they will discolor, although you don’t need to do anything special if you don’t mind a tarnished look. Don’t wash them in the dishwasher. The black plastic handles don’t require that care, but I feel they have a cheaper look.
Aeri Lee says
hi Jason,
Thank you for your reply, honey ~~ π hehe btw..you are still sleeping, time to GET UP !!! hehe.. Let’s eat breakfast. ^^
