Often, I see how the combination of different ingredients’ textures makes for an interestingly tasty food. I will show you a good example today. You will learn how to make a delicious side-dish using the crunch, bitter flavor of crown daisy along with the soft, nutty flavor of tofu. The flavor from the soybean paste, sesame oil, and garlic enhance the dish. Simple, healthy, and delicious foods, such as this one, is what I like the most. Try it someday.

Video Instructions
Main Ingredients
- ½ Pack 16 oz Soft Tofu
- 2 Handfuls Crown Daisy (6 oz)
- ½ Tbsp Sesame Seeds
Seasoning Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp Green Onion
- 1½ Tbsp Soybean Paste
- ½ Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 tsp Garlic, Minced
Directions
Obtain 2 handfuls of crown daisy (about 6 oz). Cut off any bad parts and wash them.
Use half a pack of 16 oz Tofu. You can use the rest of if for some other Korean side-dish or soup.
Boil the tofu for about 30 seconds on high.
30 seconds later, remove it from the water. Set it aside to cool down. Keep the water boiling for the crown daisy.
Put the crown daisy stems in the boiling water. Since the stems are thicker than the leafy parts, they will take longer to cook. About 20 seconds later, put the leafy parts in the boiling water. Boil for 10 more seconds and then turn off the heat.
Quickly drain it and rinse it in cold water twice.
Squeeze out the water. You should get about 1 cup.
Chop the crown daisy to your desired size.
By now, the tofu will be cooler. Gently wipe or tap the tofu with paper towel to absorb excess liquid.
With a knife blade, mash the tofu into fine chunks. This is actually fun! lol
Mix all the seasoning ingredients in a large mixing bowl: 2 Tbsp finely chopped green onion, 1½ Tbsp soybean paste, ½ Tbsp sesame oil, and 1 tsp minced garlic. Depending on your soybean paste, the saltiness can be different, so adjust the saltiness to your tastes.
Add the tofu and crown daisy into the bowl. Mix everything together with your fingers so that all the flavors will get mixed up.
Lastly, sprinkle ½ Tbsp of sesame seeds on top and mix it one more time before serving.
You can quickly make this for a meal. I’m happy to share this vegan friendly dish today. If you have any more requests or questions, please leave a comment. Enjoy!
