Video Instructions
Main Ingredients:
- 1 Pack Korean Cup RaMyeon (2.64 oz)
- 1 Cup Cooked Short Grain Rice
- ⅔ Cup Water
- ¼ Cup Well Fermented Kimchi
- 3 Tbsp Mozzarella Cheese (Optional)
- 2 Tbsp Green Onion + Extra Green Onion (for Garnish)
- ½ Tbsp Cooking Oil
- Few Pieces Red Hot Pepper Slices for Garnish (Optional)
- 1 tsp Sesame Seeds
Directions
Get 1 pack of Korean cup ramyeon (2.64 oz). You can use any brand you like if the size is similar enough for this recipe.
If you open the lid for the cup ramyeon, normally you will see the noodles with the seasoning pack(s).
Put the noodles (but not the seasoning powder) in a zipper bag and crush them into smaller chunks. Depending on your preference, the noodle size can be bigger or smaller.
Put the noodles back into the RaMyeon cup along with the seasoning powder. Then, pour ⅔ cup of water into it. The water is just normal, cool water. Let the noodles soak in the water while preparing other ingredients.
Chop ¼ cup worth of fermented kimchi into little Chunks and finely chop ¼ cup of green onions thinly. If you want, you can also slice a few pieces of red hot pepper thinly for garnishing.
Prepare 1 cup of cooked short grain rice.
Fry the green onion and the kimchi with ½ Tbsp of cooking oil on a heated pan for about a minute on medium-high.
After the 1 minute has passed, add the rice to the pan.
Fry the rice for a couple minutes until it is mixed well with the kimchi.
By now (which took about 5 minutes), the noodles will be ready to be cooked.
Put all the noodles and the broth into the pan. Fry for about 3 minutes on medium-high. The noodles will then be cooked perfectly.
After 3 minutes, turn off the heat and sprinkle 1 tsp of sesame seeds.
If you want to add some cheese to this dish, then you will have to divide the fried rice into 4 portions. Of course, if you want to skip the cheese, you can skip this process.
To assemble the dish and serve, put the red hot pepper slices on the bottom of the RaMyeon cup. Make sure that the peppers are in the center.
Take out one portion of the divided fried rice.
Then, put the rice on the cup and sprinkle about 1 Tbsp of mozzarella cheese on the rice.
Repeat this process 2 more times with the remaining fried rice and the cheese until you fill up the cup. Press down the rice gently so that it will hold a nice shape for later.
Flip the RaMyeon cup upside down on a serving plate that you picked and remove the cup slowly. You will see this beautiful stack of fried rice and noodles. I like to garnish this dish with some finely chopped green onions and extra sesame seeds. Personally, I prefer mine without any cheese, but if you love cheesy and greasy food, I recommend you to try the cheese for this recipe.
