Hi Everyone! Today, I want to introduce you to my mother-in-law, Diane, who will share Western recipes with you on Aeriβs Kitchen. She will post various American home recipes from appetizers to desserts in the Western Food category. As a reminder to our readers, you can subscribe or view each category independently if Western food does not interest you.
When I married an American a few years back, I had no idea what authentic American food was like or how to make it. Thanks to my mother-in-law, I learned a lot, and now I can prepare both Korean and some American food for our daily meals.
Her food is great, and I like to cook with her. She makes delicious homemade food, and something fun always happens in her kitchen. π So one day, I suggested that we share her recipes on my blog as a half-joke/half-serious idea. (I hoped she would accept my suggestion.) I thought it would be a good idea since people from other countries may be interested in learning like me, or maybe other people would like to try a delicious new recipe. ^^ Thankfully she said yes, and we are now working as a team; she cooks, I take the pictures, and we get to spend more time together.
I know most people visit Aeriβs Kitchen for Korean recipes; however, if you love cooking and eating tasty food, these Western recipes can be a good compliment to the Korean recipes. You can subscribe to the Western Food (RSS) category separately from your Korean Food (RSS) subscription; so if you do not want to see the Western food posts, you can essentially block them. There will be more Korean recipes in the future, so please don’t worry about that. π
If you have any questions about the food and recipes, please feel free to ask my mother-in-law, Diane. I will answer questions about Korean food, and she will answer questions about Western food. Thanks for reading. See you soon again with a new recipe. π
Very nice! Family is a beautiful thing.
I would be very curious as to what American foods from your mother-in-law you like. It’s difficult for me to find foods my wife likes.
Joe,
My wife was very slow to liking American food. One of the first American foods she liked was meat loaf.
hi ZenKimchi,
I think I can find something for your wife. π I see myself as a Korean taste (sorry for my konglish…) which means I have to eat Korean food at least once a day or after eating western food, sometimes I feel like something is missing something like that. However, seriously, there are American food I like and your wife will like. I will let you know later when she post the recipes that your wife will like… and I like
p.s btw your daughter is really lovely ~~~~ Congratulations again.. π
Thank you both! Funnily, I made my first real meatloaf in years last week, and she liked it. Didn’t wolf it down, but it was adequate with rice and banchan.
That is what my wife would do. Now she makes a great meatloaf. She puts potatoes on the bottom and only a small amount of tomato sauce. BTW It still comes with kimchi.
This is great news!
Oh ~~~ her food pictures made me hungry. It is 7:45 am now ~~~ MOM, I want your beef and rice dish right now. π
