Meatloaf is a delicious American food that I learnt how to make from my mother-in-law. Not only is it easy to make, it is also good to use as planned leftovers. You can use leftover meatloaf for hot meatloaf sandwiches with gravy or just eat it cold. You can also make big batch of meatloaf and freeze some for later. Some people add broth flavoring to make it taste better, so I wondered how Sempio’s Yondu would improve the flavor if I used it. It was a success. Try this simple and delicious meatloaf recipe someday. 🙂

Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Mix all the main ingredients together in a large mixing bowl: 2 lb ground beef, ½ cup bread crumbs, ⅓ cup onion, ¼ cup dried parsley, 2 eggs, 2 Tbsp melted salted butter, 2 tsp Sempio Yondu (optional), 2 tsp lemon juice, 1½ tsp salt, and ½ tsp black pepper.
Mix everything well as you knead it, until all the ingredients are blended evenly and stick together well.
Spray cooking oil evenly in a roasting pan.
Divide the meat mixture into half. Make 2 oval shaped meatloaves with them. Tap each piece with your hands when you form the shape, so that it will not break apart when cooking.
Places 2 meatloaves in the oiled pan.
Cover the pan with some foil.
Bake the meatloaves for about 1 and a half to 2 hours, or until the meat is completely cooked.
Mix ½ cup of ketchup and ½ Tbsp of mustard. The mustard is optional.
Evenly spread the ketchup mixture on the surface of the meatloaf.
Bake uncovered for another 10 minutes.
Slice the meatloaf when it is still warm.
Serve it warm with different kinds of veggies. I served it with peas, corn, beets, and boiled potatoes (buttered spaghetti would be good too). It was a very tasty meal. Enjoy! 🙂

Thanks for sharing about the Yondu Sauce. It is my first time hearing about it..very interesting. I always use Worcestershire Sauce in my meatloaf (one of the traditional flavorings in a meatloaf). What was the difference in terms of tasting better with Yondu than without in this particular dish?
Aeri Lee says
It is still good if you skip the yondu..but Yondu gives extra good flavor to it too. ^^

Hi Aeri,
I was watching 아빠 어디 가, a korean entertainment show, and in one episode they made a traditional dish called 감자옹심이 for the old people as breakfast. It seems to be a very traditional and delicious dish. Could you provide recipe for that?
Thank you! 😉
Aeri Lee says
I will add it to my list ^^ thanks

Hello Aeri,
I really love your recipes. I would love to get the printed copy of your recipe, but I am not sure whether amazon can ship your book internationally or not. I live in Australia btw. Does the book also have the step by step pictures just like your website? Those small pictures of step by step are really helpfull.
Btw, I have question for you, how do you check whether the meat loaf has completely cooked or not?
thanks
Nelly
