- 2 Tbsp Green Onion, Minced
- 1 tsp Garlic, Minced
For Seasoning Beef:
- 2 Tbsp Sweet Rice Flour
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Cooking Wine
- ½ Tbsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Sesame Oil
- ⅛ tsp Black Pepper
Sauce Ingredients:
- 2 Tbsp Water
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- ⅛ tsp Hondashi Powder
- 4 Pinches Garlic Powder
- 4 Pinches Ginger Powder
Directions

First, get your ¼ cup onion, 2 Tbsp green onion, and 1 tsp garlic ready — all finely minced.

You can chop by hand, but if you’ve got a chopper (I used a Ninja chopper), it makes life so much easier.

Put the 1 lb ground beef into a mixing bowl, then add 2 Tbsp sweet rice flour, 1 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp cooking wine, ½ Tbsp sugar, 1 tsp sesame oil, and ⅛ tsp black pepper.

Mix everything really well until the seasoning is evenly distributed in the meat.

Scoop out the mixture in portions of about 2 Tbsp each.

Press each portion into a round and slightly flattened patty, about 2 inches across.

You’ll get around 12–13 patties from this amount.

Whisk together in a small bowl 2 Tbsp water, 1 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp sugar, ⅛ tsp hondashi powder, 4 pinches garlic powder, and 4 pinches ginger powder.

Heat up a pan over medium heat. Place the patties in — no extra oil needed because the beef will release its own juices. Cook for about 3 minutes.

Flip the patties and cook the other side for another 3 minutes. Try to keep the heat moderate so they don’t burn.

Once both sides are golden brown, pour the sauce over the patties evenly.

Let the sauce simmer and thicken for about 5 minutes, flipping the patties now and then so the sauce coats them nicely.

And there you go — juicy, flavorful beef patties with a glossy, delicious sauce. Serve while it’s hot, maybe with a side of rice or veggies. This morning I packed my sons’ lunchboxes with those beef patties, along with boiled pierogi, some veggies, and fruit — a perfect lunchbox meal!
