Today, I will show you how to make a garnish for Korean dishes using eggs. It is called 달걀 지단 in Korean. Several of my recipes already used this garnish. You can separate the egg white and yolk to make 2 different colors or simply mix them together for one color. This garnish can make your dish more pretty and appetizing. Try it someday.

Video Instructions
Main Ingredients
- 3 Egg Yolks (1½ Pinches Salt)
- 3 Egg Whites (1½ Pinches Salt)
- Some Cooking Oil
Directions
Separate the whites and yolks of 3 eggs. Add 1½ pinches of salt to the egg whites and repeat for the yolks. Mix them.
Wipe an 8-inch heated nonstick pan with a oiled paper towel. You want very small amount of oil in your pan. Keep the temperature on medium-low.
Pour the yolk mixture into the pan. Cook in on medium-low until the surface is no longer runny. Flip the egg yolks with a spatula and cook for another minute.
Follow the same process for the egg whites. Pour only half of the egg white mixture into the pan. Cook the rest of the egg white separately.
Let them cool before cutting. This is a secret for getting a nice shape when cutting them.
Cut off the round edge of the egg to make it into two rectangles. Each rectangle will have the same width.
For the egg yolk, stack the rectangle pieces and then cut them thinly.
Follow the same process for the egg white, except it is better not to stack the pieces when cutting them because egg white is more fragile.
Now you have a pretty egg garnish. 🙂
You can also cut them in diamond shapes. To do so, cut the egg into ½-inch strips first and then cut it diagonally to make diamonds.
You can use this to decorate food for your kids. They will love what you made for them and the eggs just seem to somehow taste better. 🙂 Enjoy!
